We hold talks with law students and enlighten them on LGBTQ+ matters and LGBTQ+ refugee rights. The talk provides an overview of approaches that the students can use to improve conversations about LGBTQ+ equality and non-discrimination with a focus on emphasizing protection of LGBTQ+ refugees.

This talks was held on 24th and 25th June 2024 in partnership with Nature Network, Refugee Coalition of East Africa, Joyful Hope Resource Platform Centre which are LGBTQ+ refugee led organizations. We were able to enlighten law students on LGBTQ+ refugee matters, the challenges they face, the rights that ought to be respected and current situations at Kakuma Camp.

On 23rd and 24th October 2023 we organised a talk with MKU Parklands Law Students (first and third years) on the protection of the LGBTQ+ refugees and the status of the Kenyan refugee legal framework. @queerdefenders_ke @galck_ke @defenderske @cosir.kenya enlightened the students on orientation and identity, Adrian from @thekhrc provided insights on transgender persons,@amber_riella and Lucretia who are queer refugees living in Kakuma Camp provided a first hand experience and challenges experienced by LGBTQI+ refugees @nglhrckenya provided insights on Kenyan refugee legal framework and provided the students with a detailed research report about hate crimes and discrimination against LGBTI refugees,@refcea was able to answer the questions that the law students had.
This talks was held on 7th November 2022 in partnership with National Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and Defenders Coalition which are human right organizations. We were able to enlighten law students on LGBTQ+ refugee matters, the challenges they face, the rights that ought to be respected and current situations at Kakuma Camp.
