THANKSGIVING NOVEMBER

After the October we had, November has found us queerer than ever . I know I can’t be the only who feels 2024 has flown by so fast . Everything and nothing seemed to have happened this year . We can always grief the losses ,but it’s best to reflect on the positives. As the kenyan queer community, we have a lot to be thankful for this year . Lets look at a few of them:

  1. Queer Events

I am grateful for queer events.I applaud event organizers for their bold work in continuously providing us with safe spaces that we can just gather and be our beautiful queer selves in. We can meet the love of our loves along with the one they got away with , make new friends, be the party freaks that we are and much more.

  1. Business Collaborations

I am grateful to be part of a community with brilliant business people open to collaborations. During this year , I have witnessed more teamwork in queer owned businesses and couldn’t be more gay. This is a great indicator of growth and success.

  1. Wellness Spaces

I am grateful to have acces to queer-friendly and most times queer-only wellness spaces . We have champions of mental health amongst us who are spearheading mindfulness. Guiding us through yoga , meditation , pilates , dance and other mindful activities.

  1. Learning Spaces

I’m grateful for the access to learn and relearn ideologies on relationships, sexual health, legal rights and much more. Information is power. When we learn we can improve inner selves, careers, relationships and the overall quality of life .

All in all , I’m a happy queer. Im grateful for the things above and much more. I’m grateful my lesbian self is free and peaceful . I’m grateful for you the reader . How about you? What are you grateful for ?

May you love and be loved
